Skate & Sing Disco

Where: Whangaparaoa Primary school
When: Saturday 9th October 2010 (school holiday)
Time: 2pm– 9pm (see program)
Entry: $5 +$3 skate hire
A limited amount of Inline Skates is available for hire. Charge is $3 per hour.

Program:
2-4.30 Skating lessons
4.30 - Hockey demonstration & tutoring
5.30-6.45 - Kids and beginners Disco on skates
6.30pm - Race competition and raffle
7-9pm - Big kids and adults Disco on skates + Karaoke
8.30pm - Race competition and raffle
9.00pm - End

Facilities: All day Preschooler free play area
Soft drinks, tea, coffee, scones available for sale
Skate hire area, Karaoke on stage

Skate & Sing Disco
Come and enjoy a fun packed day of Inline skating and singing during the next school holiday. Kids and adults are invited to come on the day for inline skate lessons, roller hockey demonstration, race competition, roller disco or pick up a song to sing. Great for anyone already interested in skating, singing or just having a go for the 1st time with skates for hire.
All levels, all ages. Toddler area available, refreshment for sale.

1st event of this kind in Whangaparaoa

This community event is very original, combining Sport and Art in a fun innovative way.

Inline Skating is a very rewarding sport requiring technique and offering fitness benefits. Different styles fit with different skaters personalities. Roller hockey, artistic, speed, freestyle.

Skaters and non skaters will be invited to go on stage and sing a song of their choice.

Similar events may take place during each school holiday throughout the year.

This community project organised by 2 mums needs funding to become a successful event. Services required are: sign and screen printing - karaoke operator - skates - ramp - tee-shirts - hockey players. If you can help in any of these areas, it would be fantastic.
